Shaping Tomorrow by Acting Today July 15, 2010

Filed under: 21TEN Life Shotz Journey — Kim Steadman @ 2:30 am

A wonderful blog post by our Leader, Richard Brooke!

Printed below, but read and comment on the company page as well!

We shape tomorrow’s world every day. It is unavoidable. What you and I are doing right now is shaping how our very next day will turn out. Think about it for a moment. That laundry I put off, well tomorrow I won’t have any more clean underwear. I just created a crisis situation that forces me to act. I am either going to do a load of laundry or buy more on my way home tonight. How the crisis is remedied is up to me, but my actions of procrastinating shaped part of my tomorrow.

Every day we shape our lives through our actions. Either by doing or not doing. Our actions and non-actions shape tomorrow. As a family, community, state, nation, planet we are shaping our future. As a planet we created the giant plastic garbage patches in the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. It contaminates our water, food chain, and kills wildlife. This plastic mass continues to grow. It is shaped by us.

We shape the planet of tomorrow by reducing plastic waste or creating plastic waste. Our choice makes a difference. Every time we as leaders use our 21TEN stainless steel bottle we cut down on waste. We send a message to others and we “walk the talk”. Don’t let it stop there. Evaluate your weekly purchases of disposable items. Pay attention to packaging. Recycle product packaging after the product is gone. We vote with every purchase. Make your vote count by purchasing products in Eco-friendly, recyclable packaging.

Remember, what you do or do not do today shapes tomorrow. This fact works on everything in your life, including laundry.

21TEN will be here for the next 100 years and beyond.

Let’s lead everyone else and shape tomorrow in a positive way

You won’t believe some of the common foods that can help you fall asleep!

Forget the warm milk your mom used to give you.

Try foods such as pretzels, nuts, popcorn as outlined by David Zinczenko with Matt Goulding of Men’s Health

http://health.yahoo.net/rodale/MH/sleep-better-for-more-energy

“”Nothing makes it harder to fall asleep than knowing how important it is to fall asleep. So when the pressure’s on, try chowing down on one of these snacks before bedtime to ensure some serious shut-eye; they’re all hand-picked and approved by the Eat This, Not That! nutrition team. These eight sleep-better foods and drinks have been shown to induce feel-good relaxation chemicals, calming your nerves and slowing your racing brain. You can thank us… tomorrow morning-after a long, restful night.”"

21Ten Life Shotz Journey June 7, 2010

One Woman’s Journey to vitality and anti-aging…

I’m undertaking my challenge to gain vitality and fight aging. After learning about Thyroid problems 2 years ago, I resolved myself to just accepting that I would never “feel” full of vitality again. I’m a 45-year-old wife and mother. My thyroid went on the blink when I reached 40. My weight began to steadily increase despite watching what I ate. I was tired all the time and just putting one foot in front of the other was sometimes hard. While thyroid medicine helped regulate some of the other problems like heart palpitations and the panic feeling, along with the dry hair and hair loss – my vitality just didn’t recover. And neither did my weight loss.

I heard about 21TEN during its soft launch back in March. I was very interested in the company due to the great leadership that was launching the business. But I was more interested in the product and it’s potential.

So, after my yearly check up (which resolved much to my disappointment that my TSH count was the same with medication) I knew it was time to really put into action my own “Health Care Bill”.

3 weeks ago I began my journey to “anti – aging” and health. I began my Life Shotz.

I have kept a daily diary to take note of any health, emotional, mental and physical changes I discover along the way.

So far:
1. 4 days ago I noticed my eyes. The whites of my eyes were WHITE. CRISP white. I usually always struggle with some type of red eyes, due to stress or allergies.

2. Mental desire to REALLY do something about some type of physical activity. I do NOT like exercise. Not one bit. I hate it. BUT, I do know that a body needs daily exercise. It not only will help the weight come off, but it helps the heart, mind and attitude. I usually do not even think twice about it, because I haven’t thought once about it. But, a week ago I started feeling like “yes, I think I can have the energy to do something.” I wanted something fun though! So I had heard about Zumba, and have my tapes ordered which should arrive this week. (Trying to follow them on Youtube has been funny, but not a good way to get a good health program started).

3. My day usually starts about 4:30 – 5:00 AM. By 8:30 or 9:00 PM I am usually ready to pile in the bed for the night. I noticed that last every day last week, I would look up at the clock and see that it was 10PM. YIKES! I’ve gained another hour to my days! This is GOOD stuff!

4. Usually I wake up in the mornings and sort of drag myself around for the first hour – slowly getting ready and going through the motions. The past 5 days I noticed that I have a morning mental clarity that usually is not there.

Now, naysayers may say “oh, this is just coincidental.” All I say is – It’s HAPPENING and for me it is very REAL and I truly feel I have light at the end of my tunnel! I can hardly wait to see what the next 90 days brings if the first 21 days have been so wonderful!

Virtual Life, Get Real! June 4, 2010

I heard on the radio yesterday that in a country (Sweden? ) police were investigating a case of stolen property. Virtual property. It appears that there is a game where virtual people live in a virtual hotel. You can buy virtual furniture (with real money) to decorate your virtual room. Folks had been logging into their accounts and discovering that their virtual furniture had been stolen from their virtual room. But, since the virtual furniture had been originally purchased with real money it was now a crime case. So real police were investigating the hacking of the accounts and the thefts.

Just this morning I heard on the radio that a local gas store chain is going to give away Coffee Tickets for the virtual Facebook game ‘Farmville’. You have to buy a real Slurpee or coffee and then you get a ticket for a virtual cup of coffee to put in your virtual farm.

All this reminds me of a statement I heard Jim Stovall make recently during a leadership simulcast.
“Some people spend more time thinking about what you are going to do for the weekend than what you are going to do with the rest of your life.”

And some people spend more time worrying about a virtual game than their real business!

I know the social networking sites are a very popular avenue for promoting your business. But believe me, if you want anyone to take you and take your business serious – quit posting about all your accomplishments in your virtual game! It is sending the wrong signal to your prospective clients and customers!

Start investing that time into real actions that will bring real results! Good quality self-development reading is a must. Industry training is a must. Healthy friendships are a must!

Get REAL!
LIVE your LIFE!

6 Easy Steps To Get You Where You Want To Go Without The Stress June 3, 2010

By Carol Halsey © 2001 – 10

The comment I hear most frequently from business people is that they feel overwhelmed with work, and are often playing the game of “catch up.”

But there is a way to get it all done without being overwhelmed.

You are probably thinking, “but you don’t understand – all the phone calls, on the spot decisions, immediate tasks.”

But I do understand. These are the realities of business.

However, a little preplanning and goal setting can ease the daily pressures and find you additional time each day – as much as an hour – and relieve a whole lot of stress.

It boils down to you being more in control of how your day goes, and not being controlled by the situations that hit you.

1. Identifying and writing down your goals, short and long term, is the beginning. You may already have done this, but how do you accomplish them in a timely manner?

2. Scheduling your time is the next step. The question is then, how do you plan your time to accomplish goals when you are under the gun with crises, deadlines and interruptions?

3. Start with a daily “to do” list, which identifies the uncompleted tasks required to meet each goal.

4. Next, prioritize those tasks in order of which must be accomplished first. We sometimes are so caught up in the urgent matters of the day, that we fail to schedule time to undertake the important tasks that will lead us to our goals.

5. Allot time each day to address these tasks, in the form of blocks of quiet time, at least one hour, to work these tasks, and to plan.

Find the most creative and productive time for you and use this time wisely. Let phone calls go to voice mail to be returned later.

This time is an appointment you make with yourself, and treat as any other business commitment. It gives you the sense of being in control of where you are going, and that you are taking the positive steps to get there.

If circumstances arise that infringe on your quiet time, and surely at some time they will, reschedule for later in the day. You will soon realize the importance of having this quiet time.

6. Take 10 minutes at the end of each day to plan for tomorrow. Identify and prioritize tasks necessary to reach your goals on a daily “to do” list.

However, be careful not to commit every minute, but allow flexibility for the unexpected and urgent events that surely will occur, and it also allows you to reschedule your quiet time if necessary.

Fortune Cookie Wisdom for Your Business June 3, 2010

Photo of an open fortune cookie
Image via Wikipedia

Have you ever eaten at the Chinese restaurant and had the little fortune cookie? You open it,
take out the little slip of paper. You read it, and then in your mind say “yea, right”. Then, what
do you do with the paper. Leave it on the table? Throw it away?

I’ve decided to start adding a phrase to the end of my fortune cookie phrases.
The phrase is “in my home business”.

Take for instance:
An opportunity awaits you “in your home business”

or
Little and often makes much “in your home business”

or
Today is a lucky day for those who stay cheerful and optimistic “in your home business”

You know, when your fortune and you keep it in front of you and in your mind you will be looking
constantly for that fortune to come true!
A treasure sought is a treasure found!

So, next time you get a fortune cookie I urge you to take your fortune, add “in your home business” to the phrase and then look for the reality to come to you!
